The ‘Maang Tikka’ (headpiece) made its first appearance in paintings and sculptures dated 5000 years ago, where both men and women wore this beautiful piece of jewelry. According to Hindu mythology, the tikka (main Stone or metal design) rests in between the forehead, a spot that is believed to house our sixth chakra, aka the 'third eye'.
Its also believed that the maang tikka, when worn, rests on a spot that represents the 'power of the soul'❤️🔥

The Sterling Silver chain attached to the headpiece is Sterling Silver too and the total length of the entire piece from the top bend of the Sterling silver hook till the end of the stone design is 5.7 inches in length.
A tiny sterling silver key ring will be sent so if needed, you can add it on the chain, right above the stone piece so it can go around a few strands of your hair, helping to keep the headpiece in place on your forehead.
I wore the headpiece for you to understand the Design size on a face. Hence, it will be cleaned in an Ultrasonic machine and sanitized before shipping.

Care for your Jewelry
Your Jewelry is handcrafted and needs care like any other art piece. Do Not Wear Jewelry while sleeping, bathing, swimming or exercising. Avoid all chemicals and try not to bang your jewelry or drop it as this might damage the metal as well as the stone/s. To make your Jewelry last longer, gently rub them with a Jewelry cloth to clean and polish. Store away in a secure air tight container.
Sterling Silver and Bronze are metals that will darken with time. The only way to slow this from happening is to keep them away from moisture. However, polishing the pieces with jewelry polishing cloth will restore its shine. I protect all my jewelry with a sealant to delay oxidation. I also have a separate listing of a Jewelry Polishing cloth to keep your piece bright and sparkly. This jewelry Polishing cloth can be used for years even if it turns black. To Remove Tarnish from Sterling Silver Jewelry: Put your sterling silver jewelry in a bowl and cover them with white distilled vinegar. Add baking soda into the bowl (the approximate proportions are 4 tablespoons of baking soda for every cup of vinegar). Leave the jewelry in the mixture for 1 hour. Rinse with clean water and wipe dry with cotton cloth.
For Bronze Jewelry: Mix equal parts of vinegar and flour in a glass bowl. Add salt and stir. Spread on Bronze metal and wait for 1-2 hours. Rinse, dry and polish with a soft cloth and a little bit of olive oil.
Each piece of Jewelry may have different processing times and hence you will need to read the Description section of individual items. The jewelry in the 'Made to Order' section, will require 1- 2 weeks to make and ship. I try my best to make and ship them within a week though. All Jewelry in the 'Ready to Ship' section and 'One of a Kind' section are ready to be shipped to you right away. These orders ship within 2 business days.
All Jewelry will be shipped with beautiful gift wrapping, Tracking and Insurance. Free Tracked Shipping typically takes 7 -21 days depending on the location. You will find shipping upgrades for expedited shipping during checkout. Local pick-up option available for Vancouver.
